sco_storage_v1.next_column
The column at declaration position inout_index of one own table or view (views report their result columns): name and declared type copy NUL-terminated with two size handshakes; out_flags gets the SCO_STORAGE_COLUMN_ bitmask (a column without a declared type gets “”). On success *inout_index advances to the next position. SCO_NOT_FOUND: no such object, or *inout_index is past the last column (outputs untouched). BAD_ARG: NULL inout pointers, malformed table name.

Parameters and buffers
Section titled “Parameters and buffers”sco_result (*next_column)(sco_plugin* self, const char* table, uint32_t* inout_index, char* name, uint32_t* name_size, char* type, uint32_t* type_size, uint32_t* out_flags);

Results and failures
Section titled “Results and failures”Absent table: query_service NOT_FOUND. Stopped: UNAVAILABLE; invalid/released self: BAD_ARG. Allocation exceptions: TOO_MANY; database errors may be FAILED. Additional failures/output state unspecified unless described in the buffer contract.
Absent capability
Section titled “Absent capability”Absent table: query_service NOT_FOUND.
Ownership
Section titled “Ownership”Caller buffers; inputs/SQL parameters copied during call. Host owns database/cursors; no SQLite pointer or allocation crosses the ABI.
Thread affinity
Section titled “Thread affinity”Any thread; calls serialize per plugin. Same-call recursive reentrancy unspecified.
Callback context
Section titled “Callback context”unspecified
Reentrancy
Section titled “Reentrancy”unspecified
Cleanup and cancellation
Section titled “Cleanup and cancellation”No cancellation entrypoint; ordinary unload/non-retained crash cleanup rolls back transaction and closes cursors/database. Retained-provider faults skip owner resource-release hooks and require restart; backing resources remain retained, not safe for cached calls.
Language mappings
Section titled “Language mappings”Status labels are copied verbatim from the catalogue: direct is native access; typed-wrapper is wrapper-backed; restricted is a subset/adaptation; unsupported means no supported route is established. No status implies universal safety.
| Language | Catalogue status | Source evidence / wrapper tokens |
|---|---|---|
| c | direct | include/sco_storage.h(*next_column) |
| cpp | direct | include/sco_storage.h(*next_column) |
| csharp | typed-wrapper | sdk/csharp/Sco.Sdk/Storage.csvar r = _t->next_column( |
| lua | typed-wrapper | plugins/lua/sco_lua.cconst sco_result r = st->next_column( |
Examples
Section titled “Examples”None identified in the catalogue; this is not proof none can exist.
